Now in its 12th year, the annual Suzhou Charming Science & Technology Figures and Teams Selection is jointly hosted by the Suzhou Talent Office, Municipal Publicity Department, Science and Technology Bureau, Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the Science & Technology Association.
Following nominations, qualifications screening, and expert evaluations, the list of “20 candidates for the 2018 Suzhou Charming Tech Figures” and “10 candidate teams” has just been released.
We’re proud to announce that the Yang Peiqiang Team from Suzhou Niumag Analytical Instrument Co., Ltd. — known as the Niumag Charming Tech Team — has officially made the list as one of Suzhou’s most remarkable science & technology teams of 2018.

About the Niumag Charming Tech Team

 

China’s low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technology started relatively late, with over 99% of high-end products relying on imports. With a mission to become “a leading provider of low-field NMR application solutions,” Mr. Yang Peiqiang founded Suzhou Niumag Analytical Instrument Co., Ltd. in 2009. Guided by the principles of specialisation, precision, agility, and perseverance, the team has been devoted to the R&D of core low-field NMR technologies and application-specific solutions.

Over the years, Niumag has successfully launched advanced scientific instruments across various industries — including food and agriculture, biopharmaceuticals, new materials, and energy and georesources. Notably in 2018, the team rolled out dozens of NMR-based fibre oil content analysers tailored for industrial use, successfully replacing imported systems at scale.

After a decade of dedication, Niumag has broken the foreign monopoly on high-end low-field NMR analytical instruments and now leads the domestic market in market share. The team has become a benchmark for Chinese scientific instrument companies aiming to compete globally. Niumag has also obtained CNAS laboratory certification for seven standardised core plug measurement methods and is currently spearheading the establishment of national standards for low-field NMR applications.
