From July 19 to 20, 2019, Numag Group held its mid-year team-building trip to Shaoxing and Pan’an. More than 170 people, including Numag employees and their families, participated in this event. The purpose of the trip was to strengthen corporate culture, enrich employees’ leisure activities, enhance interpersonal connections, and provide an opportunity for everyone to understand each other better while improving team collaboration.

On the morning of the 19th, at 7:00 AM, three buses, filled with laughter and excitement, departed from the company’s offices in Suzhou and Shanghai. By 11:00 AM, they arrived at the first destination of the trip: Lùzhèn in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province.

Upon arriving at the Shaoxing scenic area, including “Ke Yan, Lu Town, and Jian Lake,” the weather welcomed Numag’s guests with a light, refreshing drizzle that cooled the air, instantly boosting everyone’s spirits. What lifted the mood even further was Chairman Yang Peiqiang’s heartfelt speech.

Chairman Yang: Reflecting on the Past, Embracing the Present, and Looking Toward the Future

“Over ten years ago, Numag’s first team-building event by Taihu Lake is still fresh in my memory. At that time, our team consisted of just a handful of people. Today, as we gather here, we are nearly 170 strong. ‘A decade of sharpening a sword,’ the past ten years have seen Numag grow into a leader in the domestic scientific instrument market for low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). It’s wonderful to witness Numag’s growth, the expansion of our team, and the strengthening of our cohesion.”

“None of this would be possible without the collective strength and cooperation of all Numag employees, and the silent support and dedication from the families of our staff. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone!”

“Looking ahead to the next decade, I hope that all Numag employees will continue to stay true to our original intention, work harmoniously with others, strive for excellence, and make Numag an even more brilliant platform and a stronger group! Let us unite and move forward together, creating another glorious decade for Numag and all our employees. I sincerely hope that in the next decade’s team-building event, we can once again gather and share the wonderful moments of the future!”

With Chairman Yang’s inspiring words and the official announcement of the event’s start, everyone’s enthusiasm soared. After a delicious lunch at Lu Town’s famous entrance, the group was split into two teams to begin the activities.

One of the activities was the designated scenic orienteering competition. The event was designed around the features of the local attractions, with teams of three tasked with reaching designated spots and completing specific challenges in the shortest time possible. A variety of tasks had been set, such as finding hotels named after animals, taking photos with historical landmarks, and completing cultural challenges. Due to space and order limitations, only 13 teams participated, but many more employees were eager to join.

As the teams competed, colleagues cheered them on! For those not participating in the orienteering competition, they enjoyed the beauty of Lu Town, Jian Lake, and Ke Yan. The sights were a feast for the eyes, and everyone was immersed in the natural beauty and the spirit of teamwork. The essence of Numag’s values—collaboration and interaction—was clearly demonstrated throughout the competition.

The orienteering tasks were varied and interesting: finding hotels named after animals, taking photos with famous literary landmarks, searching for statues, and participating in commemorative activities for heroes. Throughout the event, competitors ran, discussed, and collaborated, with every step filled with laughter. It was clear that Numag’s spirit of teamwork and collaboration was alive and well.

Throughout the event, the competition was fierce, and the atmosphere remained high. Afterward, everyone eagerly shared their experiences and laughed together. The creativity in naming the teams was as fun as the competition itself, and everyone, regardless of ranking, was proud of their teamwork.

On the afternoon of the 19th, everyone visited Chenjie Village in Pan’an to experience the charm of rural revitalization. The village was full of signs of prosperity: vibrant promotional boards, well-organized houses, clean streets, and the simple, rustic lifestyle. The village retained the traditional features of Shaoxing’s rural areas, with hanging hams, ancient Eight Immortals tables, smooth stone paths, and umbrella-like firewood piles, offering a unique style.

That evening, everyone stayed at a rural guesthouse. Some colleagues took a leisurely stroll through the mountain village’s water corridors, enjoying the peaceful surroundings of lotus ponds, clear water, and scenic mountains. Others played games like diabolo or basketball, letting off steam. Some tried Longjing tea and chatted, while others explored the outdoors, taking photos of the landscape. The usually quiet village came to life with the arrival of the Numag team. In this relaxed setting, everyone let down their guard, discussing work, life, dreams, and achievements… growing closer in the process.

On the 20th, at the final stop, the Zhejiang Central Grand Canyon, Numag’s team once again enjoyed the joy of being together. Trekking through the lush forest trails, admiring the distant mountains, feeling the fresh air, and walking across hanging bridges above the canyon’s rock formations, it was truly exhilarating. The team experienced thrilling white-water rafting and the serene experience of drifting on bamboo rafts, absorbing the beauty of the “rolling mountains” and “gently flowing rivers.” Everyone captured these special moments, making the experience unforgettable.

A talented Numag colleague wrote a brief account of the trip, “Numag’s Eighteen Ridges Journey”:

  Numag’s Eighteen Ridges Journey
By Zhang Zhenjie
Pan’an is home to beautiful sights, and the canyon has countless bends.
Seeking the most scenic spot, the Eighteen Ridges, a bridge connects the mountains.
Crossing the bridge leads to a paradise, with blue skies and white clouds above the peaks.
Entering the mountains, one speaks softly, afraid to disturb the ancient mountain gods.
In the deep green, cicadas sing, and the flowing water sounds like music.
Stone walls are covered with moss, with color-changing lizards hiding in the cracks.
Centuries-old dead trees resemble dragons, their claws reaching up to the sky.
Taibai must have forgotten to return here, and dreams no longer visit the Tianmo Mountain.
One boat stirs up a thousand waves, racing through life halfway up the mountain.
Young adventurers cross dangerous paths, unafraid, moving forward in life.

The beautiful journey came to an end, but the laughter and joy were forever etched in the hearts of Numag’s employees. Together, we walked into nature, drew closer, and experienced the unique charm of the Numag team. Let’s release the pressures of work and life, hand in hand, heart to heart, and embrace life with a more optimistic and energized spirit!

Go, Numag Team!
