“Innovation 100” Entrepreneur Study Tour: A Visit to Suzhou Niumag Analytical

On February 27, 2019, the “Innovation 100” Entrepreneur Study Tour, organized by Instrument.com.cn, was launched in Suzhou with great enthusiasm. Nearly 20 representatives from domestic small to medium-sized scientific instrument companies visited Suzhou Niumag Analytical Instrument Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Niumag), a strategic brand partner of Instrument.com.cn. The visit focused on learning about scientific instrument commercialisation, as well as best practices in R&D, quality control, and after-sales service.

Despite light rain in the afternoon, the “Innovation 100” entrepreneurs arrived on time at Niumag’s new headquarters in Huguan Industrial Park. They were warmly welcomed by Chairman Peiqiang Yang and the company’s core team.

Mr. Liu Changkuan, Executive Vice Chairman of the Analytical Instrument Branch of the China Instrument and Control Society, attended the event. In his opening remarks, he noted that unlike consumer goods, analytical instruments represent a niche industry with modest profit margins. What sustains companies like Niumag is not the pursuit of high profits, but a strong sense of national pride and the mission to serve the country through innovation. He encouraged other small and medium-sized domestic companies to learn from Niumag — to grow in unity and collaborate during critical stages of development. Chairman Peiqiang Yang also shared his perspectives on business operations and management and extended a warm welcome to the visiting entrepreneurs.

In late 2018, Niumag relocated its headquarters from Suzhou High-tech Zone to Huguan Industrial Park. During this visit, the “Innovation 100” delegation also toured Niumag’s newly established customer center, production floor, and machining workshop. Marketing Director Mr. Gao Yangwen and Deputy General Manager Mr. Zhang Yingli delivered presentations introducing Niumag’s company profile, service philosophy, after-sales system, and product development process — offering valuable insights to the study group and making the visit truly worthwhile.

About the “Innovation 100” Program:

Launched in 2018 by Instrument.com.cn in collaboration with the China Instrument and Control Society and 11 other authoritative institutions, the “Innovation 100” initiative aims to accelerate the rise of domestic scientific instrument manufacturers. Through public-interest reporting and resource integration, the program helps identify and support a group of highly innovative small and medium-sized companies.

As of December 31, 2018, the program had received 108 applications, visited and profiled over 50 instrument manufacturers, and hosted offline resource-matching events — serving as a launchpad for many of the industry’s most promising companies. In 2019, the “Innovation 100” team formally launched its Entrepreneur Study Class and continues to match resources and meet real-world needs — delivering practical support to the next generation of domestic instrumentation leaders.
