During the production of polyester fibers, oiling agents are applied to enhance smoothness, bundling behavior, antistatic performance, and overall processability in subsequent steps.
Excessively high or low oil content can significantly affect fiber performance during manufacturing and even more so during post-processing.
Therefore, it is crucial to quickly and accurately measure the oil content and provide timely feedback to the production line. This allows for real-time adjustment of process parameters and ensures proper oiling control.
Oil content in polyester fibers refers to the weight percentage of non-fibrous substances (excluding moisture) attached to the fiber. Traditionally, oil content is measured via solvent extraction methods, which have limitations such as long test times, delayed results, hazardous solvents, high labor costs, and susceptibility to operator error. To overcome these issues, Niumag has developed a method using low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) for oil content detection in fibers.
According to the testing workflow designed for factory laboratories, simply place the sample into a test tube and insert it into the probe—results are available shortly afterward.
No solvents are needed, making it a one-time cost solution.
Each test takes only 30 seconds, offering fast, precise, and reliable analysis. Like the “eyes” of your production line, it monitors product quality in real-time and ensures immediate feedback for any anomalies.
Applicable to rapid oil content detection in polyester filament, spandex, nylon, vinylon, viscose fiber, glass fiber, and more—with no consumables required.
Just 30 seconds per test—ultra-fast response for high-volume sample throughput, making real-time online quality control possible.
Complies with national standard methodology—NMR ensures accurate, non-destructive, and eco-friendly measurements, supporting repeated longitudinal testing on the same sample.
Relative standard deviation (RSD) for oil content ≥ 1%: ≤ 1.000%;
Relative standard deviation (0.5% < oil content < 1%): ≤ 2.000%;
Relative standard deviation (oil content ≤ 0.5%): ≤ 3.000%;
