Niumag and Low-Field NMR Growing Together [15th Anniversary Review] The year 2018 was truly unforgettable and exceptional — marking Niumag’s 15th anniversary. 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes — each moment filled with stories of growth, challenge, and transformation. This year saw a surge in Niumag’s market engagement, with a rich mix of offline conferences and online activities. Customer appreciation campaigns and NMR educational outreach were launched in succession. Fifteen years may not seem long, but Niumag’s journey has been steady and determined from day one. Looking back is not just reflection — it’s a ritual of progress. Behind every 15th-anniversary campaign lies Niumag’s unwavering dedication to low-field NMR. In 2019, we’ll continue to gather strength, stay inspired, and move forward — together. As Founder & Chairman Mr. Peiqiang Yang once said: “I can sum up these 15 years in six words — moved, grateful, and thankful.” Gratitude has been the guiding theme of Niumag’s 15th-anniversary celebration series.

15th Anniversary Appreciation Series: 2nd Nationwide “Service Tour”

In 2018, to better serve our customers, Niumag launched the second edition of its nationwide “Service Tour” campaign. Guided by the philosophy of “Customer First, Service Above All,” this initiative aimed to enhance customer satisfaction and deliver fresh research insights and direction.

Officially kicked off in November, the tour made successful stops in Changchun and Tianjin. Professors and students from Changchun Institute of Technology, Jilin University, Jilin Jianzhu University, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and Tianjin Agricultural University participated in hands-on sessions.

They engaged in face-to-face exchanges with Niumag’s R&D engineers on emerging NMR applications in porous media and food materials. Users also raised practical instrument-related challenges, which were addressed through in-depth technical discussions.

Looking ahead to 2019, Niumag plans to continue its Service Tour across four additional cities nationwide — answering questions, sharing research breakthroughs, and remaining firmly committed to our service-first promise.

15th Anniversary Appreciation Series: Outstanding Paper Awards

In August 2018, Niumag launched its second “Outstanding Paper Awards,” inviting users to submit academic papers published over the past three years using Niumag NMR instruments. More than 20 SCI papers were received from professionals across various industries.

After rigorous external expert review and internal evaluation, six exceptional papers were selected. In addition to prize incentives, these papers were showcased at Niumag’s 15th Anniversary Gala, offering reference value and inspiration for the broader scientific community.

15th Anniversary Appreciation Series: Share a Photo, Tell Your Story

In an effort to get closer to the daily lives of researchers, Niumag hosted the “Share a Photo, Tell Your Story” campaign. The event was open to all users of Niumag’s low-field NMR instruments, receiving enthusiastic participation from over 10 university labs nationwide.

Twenty entries were submitted, and six winners were selected through public voting — with first, second, and third prizes awarded. Behind every photo is a real story of scientific exploration, and behind every story is NMR at work.

15th Anniversary Gala: United by Niumag, Resonating Toward the Future

On October 26, 2018, Niumag hosted its 15th Anniversary Celebration at the Suzhou Taihu Marriott Hotel. With the theme “United by Niumag, Resonating Toward the Future,” the event welcomed government officials, industry leaders, scientific society guests, long-term customers, and over 100 Niumag employees.

It was an evening filled with emotion, gratitude, and appreciation — a time to reflect on the past and look forward to new horizons together by the scenic shores of Taihu Lake.

Popularizing Magnetic Resonance

 

For 15 years, Niumag has remained committed to the advancement and promotion of low-field nuclear magnetic resonance technology. In 2018, a series of NMR science outreach activities were launched to help more people understand NMR and bring it closer to everyday life.

In celebration of Niumag’s 15th anniversary, the “Discovering NMR Together” Science Education Tour was launched — visiting five cities: Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Lanzhou, and Hainan. Around 200 experts, professors, and lab professionals joined the tour.

Attendees explored real-world NMR applications and discussed cutting-edge research developments with NMR specialists — contributing fresh insights into the evolving role of NMR technology in various fields.

15th Anniversary | Featured User Interview

To help more researchers understand the real-world application of low-field NMR, Instrument.com.cn interviewed Professor Wei Yimin of the Institute of Agro-Products Processing Science and Technology at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences — a long-term Niumag user.

Professor Wei has worked extensively on food moisture analysis platforms and intelligent drying systems. In his interview, he discussed his collaboration with Niumag and Jinshahe Flour, offering this precise evaluation of NMR: “The significance of NMR in food science lies in its ability to distinguish the state of water, visualize water migration, and measure not just content, but also the molecular behavior of water. This research holds tremendous value.”

15th Anniversary | Public Benefit Magnetic Resonance Webinar

In addition to showcasing user voices, Niumag continues to lead by example in promoting low-field NMR technology. In 2018, a series of public-benefit webinars were held on the Instrument.com.cn platform.

Five distinguished professors from various fields were invited to deliver expert lectures. The live session attracted 195 attendees, with 37 participants submitting questions and over 100 queries answered both during the event and later via official channels.

Fulfilling Social Responsibility & Spreading Positivity

As a company rooted in domestic low-field NMR innovation, Niumag has always upheld a culture of gratitude, respect, and heartfelt commitment. Externally, the company actively embraces corporate social responsibility through initiatives like blood donation drives and educational support programs — spreading warmth and positive energy wherever it goes.

15th Anniversary | Children’s Charity Art Campaign & Auction

As a high-tech enterprise, Niumag recognizes the critical role of education for individuals, communities, and the country. In July–August 2018, we launched the “Children’s Charity Art Campaign” to collect drawings from children under the age of 12 across China.

A total of 52 entries were received, with 12 selected for a special charity auction held during Niumag’s 15th Anniversary Gala. The auction raised 11,800 RMB in donations, which were given to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai Love Association to support underprivileged students in rural regions.

15th Anniversary | Charity Running Challenge

To promote healthy work and joyful living, Niumag launched the “15th Anniversary Charity Run” campaign in 2018 under the slogan: “Exercise 30 minutes daily, work healthily every day, live happily for life.”

The challenge: run 150 km in 150 days. A total of 111 colleagues joined the challenge, and 22 successfully reached the goal. But the true value wasn’t in the distance — it was in the decision to take the first step. If you dared to start, you were already your own superhero.

Technology Development | Tackling the Toughest Problems

In 2016, Niumag made its entry into the industrial NMR field. Facing demanding precision and performance requirements, our R&D team rose to the challenge. After multiple iterations and rigorous testing, Niumag officially released its new industrial-grade NMR product in 2017 — the NMR Fibre Oil Content Analyzer.

Tailored for the fiber industry, this compact NMR instrument is now widely used for analyzing oil content in fiber materials. Beyond oil content, it also supports moisture regain testing in viscose and nylon, as well as resin coating measurements in industrial-grade polyester and nylon fibers.

With advantages like speed and precision, the instrument quickly gained traction and was honored as an “Outstanding New Scientific Instrument” in 2017.

Collaborative Innovation | Win-Win Partnerships

On November 23, 2018, Niumag partnered with the State Key Laboratory of Frozen Soil Engineering to officially launch the “Joint Laboratory for Dynamic Magnetic Resonance Analysis of Freeze–Thaw Processes” in Lanzhou, Gansu Province.

The joint lab defines a clear strategic vision, leveraging the strengths of both parties to foster cross-disciplinary innovation and rapidly generate impactful results. The lab will support breakthroughs in frozen soil science and help optimize scientific instrumentation for specialized applications.

As 2018 drew to a close, Niumag stood poised for even greater progress. With 2019 on the horizon, the Niumag team — affectionately known as the “NMR Cowboys” — is more united than ever and ready to push forward. Here’s to a new year of innovation, collaboration, and success!
