On June 22, 2022, Suzhou Tianu Testing Service Co., Ltd. was granted its first National CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) certification, and on June 25, it also passed the three-year re-evaluation by the National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). This marks a successful four-year streak of passing on-site reviews since it first obtained preliminary operation approval from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) on May 31, 2018.

Suzhou Tianu Testing Service Co., Ltd. was founded in 2015 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzhou Newmai Analysis Instruments Co., Ltd. (Stock code: 836507). On May 31, 2018, Tianu Testing passed the CNAS (L11073) accreditation by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment. The scope of accreditation includes 7 key testing items in fields such as petroleum, geosciences, and geotechnical engineering: core T2 spectra, T1 spectra, T2 cutoff values, NMR porosity, permeability, bound fluid saturation, and mobile fluid saturation.

In June 2022, the company passed the CMA (221000340381) certification, which included CNAS-accredited NMR testing of rock samples, as well as NMR applications in testing items such as meat products, seed oil content, and pesticide residues. Suzhou Tianu Testing is the first domestic professional testing company in the petroleum and energy sector to obtain CNAS accreditation for a comprehensive range of core NMR testing. Over 40% of its technical personnel hold doctoral or master’s degrees. Tianu Testing owns various NMR analysis and imaging systems with different diameters, field strengths, and functions, and provides standardized testing, scientific research, and analytical services in sectors such as petroleum energy, geology, food and agriculture, life sciences, polymer materials, and other porous media fields. It offers comprehensive solutions in low-field NMR, assists customers with sample testing, experiment design, result analysis, and publishing high-level research papers.

During the CMA and CNAS evaluation process, the expert group carefully reviewed around 500 documents, including quality manuals, procedural documents, work instructions, and relevant forms, based on the guidelines for the accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories and the application requirements for the accreditation of testing laboratories in chemical testing fields.

During the evaluation, the expert group conducted on-site tests, examined the overall laboratory environment, and checked the testing instruments’ usage and calibration records, test reports, experimental records, personnel training plans, internal audits, and management review reports. They conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the testing center’s management and technical capabilities through questions and on-site observations.

During the review, the experts selected several test engineers for an impromptu assessment of their basic NMR abilities, testing techniques, and qualifications. They confirmed that the laboratory personnel’s theoretical knowledge and practical abilities met the accreditation standards. The experts also requested that the test personnel conduct actual sample tests on-site, reviewing specific steps in the testing process.

In recent years, Suzhou Tianu Testing has developed rapidly. In addition to its advantages in detection standards and impartiality, Tianu Testing leads in NMR testing technology, with a well-equipped team of professionals and a complete set of NMR and associated equipment. Our technical consulting team, supported by Newmai Analysis’s national postdoctoral workstation, provides various low-field NMR testing services and extended support for petroleum and natural gas consulting and application solutions. In 2021, Suzhou Tianu and Suzhou Newmai jointly received the First Prize in Jiangsu Province for Science and Technology in the field of NMR-based food rapid testing, contributing significantly to the Suzhou High-Tech Zone.
