The 13th China Scientific Instrument Development Annual Conference (ACCSI 2019), known as the “Davos Forum” of China’s instrument industry, was held at the Wyndham Grand Qingdao Yanshan Beach Hotel on April 18-19, 2019. The theme of the conference was “Innovation-Driven, Open Cooperation.” Leaders from government agencies, associations, testing organizations, laboratory managers, instrument procurement officers, and scientific instrument manufacturers from across the country gathered in Qingdao, with nearly 1,000 participants, to discuss the future trends of scientific analysis instruments.
Numag Analysis had several highlights at this year’s ACCSI: Chairman Yang Peiqiang was invited for an exclusive interview to share the brand story of Numag, and also participated as a guest in the i100 Summit: China Scientific Instrument Development Forum. He discussed the challenges facing the scientific instrument market today and the small goals for his company in 2019, engaging in dialogue with seven other guests about the challenges and opportunities within China’s scientific instrument market. Numag Analysis also won the “Best Online Marketing Award” for 2018.

Chairman Yang Peiqiang’s exclusive online interview on the brand story
As a part of China’s scientific instrument industry, Numag Analysis has experienced its own share of struggles and successes while growing. As a professional scientific instrument media outlet, Instrument Information Network delved into Numag’s 16 years of growth and development.
Looking back, the early struggles of entrepreneurship, the milestones and key opportunities for development, as well as the pivotal moments that shaped the company. Today, Numag’s product line has expanded from offline to online, from single machines to multi-field coupling, and from research to industrial applications. Behind this rapid growth, Numag has made a series of innovations and adjustments in areas such as talent development, after-sales service, and management. Looking ahead, Numag will continue to focus on the key areas for development, even in the face of “internal and external pressures” (domestic economic slowdown and international trade wars), and find ways to seize opportunities and meet challenges.

At this conference, Chairman Yang was invited as a special guest to participate in the i100 Summit: China Scientific Instrument Development Forum’s interactive session. He discussed two key topics: “What challenges is the scientific instrument market facing today?” and “What is your company’s small goal for 2019?” in a lively panel discussion with seven other experts.

“What challenges is the scientific instrument market facing today?”
In response to the current challenges, Chairman Yang answered: Imbalance! The scientific instrument market has two major sectors: the high-end product super-market and the low-end product commodity market. The high-end market is 95% imported, while the low-end market is 95% domestic. The high-end market lacks technological content, while the low-end market is in a price war, and the biggest victims are the domestic products. Chairman Yang called for domestic instrument manufacturers to unite, and for the government to play a full regulatory role, as organized and honest competition is the way to overcome the challenges.
“What is your company’s small goal for 2019?”
When asked about the company’s small goal, Chairman Yang replied candidly: “We lack money. As one of the two unicorns in the nuclear magnetic resonance industry, Numag has not yet gathered enough energy to explode, and a major reason for this is a lack of capital. We need capital to integrate production and finance, and to develop the market and products!”

Numag Analysis won the “Best Online Marketing Award” for 2018 at the Instrument and Testing Industry Awards Ceremony. This award acknowledges Numag’s remarkable achievements in brand promotion over the past year. It also motivates Numag to continue to pursue excellence in its products and services in the future.
