NMR Principle

Education NMR system and experiments

What is NMR?
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is a physical process in which the spin level of an atomic nucleus with a non-zero magnetic moment undergoes Zeeman splitting under the action of an external magnetic field, and resonance absorbs a certain frequency of radio frequency radiation. This process is called nuclear magnetic resonance. NMR instruments have become routine analytical testing methods in organic chemistry research, and in medical practice, NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance imaging) instruments have also become diagnostic tools for certain diseases.

Why NMR education is important?
The importance of nuclear magnetic resonance teaching is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Understand the principle of nuclear magnetic resonance: Nuclear magnetic resonance is a technology that uses the magnetic moment of an atomic nucleus to detect energy level transitions that occur in a strong magnetic field. Through teaching, it can help students understand the basic principles of nuclear magnetic resonance, thus laying the foundation for subsequent learning and application.
2. Mastering nuclear magnetic resonance technology: Nuclear magnetic resonance technology has applications in multiple fields, such as medical diagnosis and chemical research. Through teaching, students can master the practical application and operational skills of nuclear magnetic resonance technology, laying a foundation for future scientific research and work.
3. Cultivating scientific research ability: Nuclear magnetic resonance technology is one of the commonly used methods in scientific research work. Through teaching, students’ scientific research ability can be cultivated, and their understanding and operational level of scientific research work can be improved.
4. Expanding knowledge field: Nuclear magnetic resonance technology is an interdisciplinary field of physics, chemistry, biology, and other disciplines. Through teaching, it can help students expand their knowledge field and improve their overall quality.

In short, nuclear magnetic resonance teaching is of great significance for improving students’ theoretical level, practical ability, and comprehensive quality.

NMR system for education

EDUMR is a desktop NMR device designed for MRI experimental teaching. Courses to teach NMR principles and experiments through MRI demonstration can be created by including EDUMR in physical corresponding majors (modern physics, applied physics, radio physics, electronic engineering, etc.) or medical corresponding majors (large-scale medical apparatus, medical imaging technology, biomedical engineering, etc.). Extensive experimental courses and majors like NMR engineering related to hardware structure can also be established with through the use of EDUMR.
